Hypnotherapy is a technique where you are guided into a deeply relaxed state of focused attention called a hypnotic trance. In this trance state, your therapist gently explores the depths of your subconscious mind, revealing the emotions, beliefs, and fears feeding your anxiety and pain.
This pleasant, relaxed state of focused attention is something you’ve likely experienced before without even realizing it. A great example is called being in the “zone.” For instance, you’ve been in the “zone” when you drove to your destination only to realize that you don’t remember the route you took.
The distinction in Hypnotherapy is your therapist purposefully induces a trance-like state to reach and influence your subconscious mind.
While in this deeply relaxed state, your therapist will introduce positive suggestions. These suggestions are designed to change how you think and feel about situations that trigger your anxiety or cause your pain. Through repetition, you’ll experience a noticeable improvement in your symptoms and overall well-being.
The positive effects of Hypnotherapy last long after the session has ended. To reinforce these beneficial changes, we can provide recordings of your sessions to use on your own. Just ask for a recording before our session begins if you’d like that additional reinforcement.
