Lily Ohl, LSW, CADC

Evanston Therapist

(She/Her)

Hi, I am Lily! I help individuals and couples learn to build healthy communication patterns, navigate difficult conflicts, illnesses, and grief, and overcome barriers to healthy functioning such as addiction (food, nicotine, substance etc.), anxiety, trauma and more. You deserve to love your life, and it is my aim to get you there.

I specialize in working with adults who feel stuck and want to make changes in their personal lives and in the relationships they hold with others. These relationships include friends, family, work, and spousal. Additionally, I am trained in addiction and enjoy helping my clients find creative strategies to break self-destructive and addictive patterns of behavior and thoughts that might be linked to college substance abuse, adult onset usage, eating disorders, and other addictive behaviors. I value genuineness and practical interventions in therapy and always make sure these elements are present in my work. I will listen to you but also will be as direct as you would like me to be.

In my work with you, I will spend a lot of time getting to know you to come up with a plan that feels right to you to help you feel happier in your life and in your relationships. A plan to help you feel less distracted and consumed by obstacles and conflicts. It’s important to me to treat you like a unique individual.

I use techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialect Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and a Systems Perspective in my therapy. As humans, we interact with countless systems every day and understanding the influence these systems play in our lives is essential. Through this understanding, my clients leave therapy with a better understanding of themselves, feeling more confident, happy, and at peace.

In my free time I enjoy continuing my education, spending time with the people I love, and challenging myself to explore new hobbies.
