Evanston Therapist

(He/Him)

Hi there, I’m Joshua. I’ve always been fascinated by people and the experiences that make each of us unique. That’s why I became a therapist – to help people as they navigate the complexities of life and discover their own paths towards healing, growth, and fulfillment.

Before finding my calling in therapy, I worked in the fast paced world of start-ups and technology where managing teams taught me that success extends beyond achieving goals. It’s involves connecting with others, understanding their perspectives, and supporting them through challenges and triumphs.

For me, therapy is way more than just diagnosing issues and treating problems – it’s about making a space where people can feel truly seen, heard and understood. I like to use a person-focused approach, customizing my methods to each individual’s special needs and goals. Together we explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, unraveling patterns and beliefs that might be holding you back.

My own personal journey, including 5 years living in China, has taught me the importance of resilience, adaptability and embracing diversity. Living in a new culture increased my empathy for folks dealing with challenges related to immigration, cultural differences, or other big life changes.

Whether you’re working through grief, wrestling with anxiety or depression, or just on a mission to understand yourself better, I’m here to offer my genuine support. What makes me different is not just professional skills but a heartfelt connection with the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. I genuinely enjoy working with people from all kinds of backgrounds, and I’m committed to understanding and supporting your one-of-a-kind experiences.

Outside of therapy, I’m a passionate adventurer always seeking new experiences and challenges. I’ve trained for marathons, backpacked through off-the-beaten-path landscapes, and savored culinary adventures around the globe. I’m also a devoted dog lover, cherishing the unconditional love and companionship of my Maltese-Japanese Chin mix Lolo.
