Evanston Therapist

(She/Her)

Hi, I’m Iva.

Therapy isn’t just for when things fall apart. It’s also for when you’re tired of holding it all together on your own. When the stress, the sadness, the overthinking—it’s all just become too much. You don’t need to have the perfect words or a big breakthrough moment. You just need a place to start.

I became a therapist because I know what it’s like to struggle with mental health, starting from a young age. I also know how powerful it can be to finally feel seen and heard. That’s why I care deeply about working with people who feel misunderstood, overwhelmed, or like they’ve been carrying things alone for a long time. In 2019, I felt a strong pull to step into this work, and I’ve never looked back.

I work with teens, adults, and couples navigating a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief, stress, and major life transitions. Many of my clients are new to therapy, and I love being part of those early steps—helping people explore what’s going on at their own pace and in their own way.

In our work together, I use a mix of talk therapy, cognitive behavioral tools, trauma-informed approaches, and solution-focused strategies. But more than anything, I try to create a space that feels safe, respectful, and real. Sometimes we’ll talk, sometimes we’ll play Connect Four, sometimes you might pick up colored pencils and draw what words can’t express, and sometimes I will give you exercises to fine-tune communication and figure out what is next in your life.

Outside of sessions, I love walking by the lake, going to church, spending time with loved ones, exploring art festivals, and watching wildlife documentaries. I believe in curiosity, in quiet, and in the strength it takes to ask for help.

If you’re ready to have someone in your corner, I’d be glad to connect. You don’t have to do this on your own.
